Biography

 

Morris Albert is an artist, musician, singer-songwriter, arranger and producer, born in Rio de Janeiro, September 7, 1951.

 

He has written, so far, over 250 songs and published 12 albums, many singles and compilations that, selling over 150 million records in more than 50 countries, gave him 56 gold records, 17 platinum and 4 Grammy Award Nominations.

 

Some of his songs have been interpreted by Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Dionne Warwick, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, The O’Jays, Paul Anka, Julio Iglesias, George Benson, Johnny Mathis, Isaac Hayes, José Feliciano, Sammy Davis Jr., Perry Como, Tom Jones, Trini Lopez, The Lettermen, Diana Shore, Shirley Bassey, Engelbert Humperdink, Andy Williams, Vic Damone, Ferrante and Teicher, The Offspring, Ray Conniff, Percy Fayth, André Kostelanetz, Leonard Bernstein, Mantovani, …and many others.

 

Feelings has been recognized as the most-recorded song in music history by ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers). In 1977, it was believed to have surpassed White Christmas with its number of versions recorded worldwide.

 

His songs have also been part of soundtracks in at least 100 movies and TV series, including An Officer and A Gentleman, The Fabulous Baker Boys, Shrek, Caddyshack, Blame on the Bell Boy, Music and Lyrics, Breakfast on Pluto, Un Amore di Donna, Bionic Woman, etc.
